Hypno Therapy

Our imagination, emotions, memories, automatic body responses, habit patterns, and our most deeply held beliefs about ourselves and what we think is possible to achieve, live in our subconscious, or unconscious, mind. These deeply held patterns and beliefs drive our decisions and shape our lives and perceptions. To make lasting, positive changes in our lives, we need to change these subconscious patterns.

Hypnotherapy is an effective, safe and proven way to access the unconscious mind and is a collaborative effort between the client and the hypnotherapist. Working together to bring about positive change identified by the client, hypnotherapy is a natural method of achieving lasting improvement.

Can anyone be hypnotised?

Yes.
Some people are resistant and not easily hypnotised - they may take longer to go into trance. Others drop into trance easily and without hesitation. Anyone of reasonable intelligence can be hypnotised, they just need to allow it. Each time you are hypnotised, it becomes easier to go into trance.

Will I be asleep?

No.
You will be in trance. People who are in an hypnotic trance might look as if they're asleep, with the same changes in breathing patterns, face colour and muscle tone but, hypnosis is a deep state of relaxation, closer to a waking state than a sleep state. Brain waves differ between the states of sleep and hypnotic trance. For the sake of simplicity, ‘sleep’ is often the word used when inducing a trance.

Can I get ‘stuck’ in hypnosis?

No.
You are in control and can bring yourself out of trance at any time.

Will the hypnotherapist make me run naked down the street singing show tunes?

No.
You can not be made to do anything against your will. For hypnotherapy to work, the client must want to make changes. This is hypnotherapy for health and well-being, not “cruise-ship entertainment”.

What’s the difference between meditation and hypnosis?

Hypnosis & meditation have similarities but, hypnosis goes further by bypassing the critical factor to create a somnambulistic state for therapeutic purposes.
